BABYMOONS IN THE USA: LOS ANGELES, CA

A babymoon is such a wonderful trip! It is designed to give you and your partner time away to focus on each other. There are so many fabulous trips waiting for you, you need to decide what fits within your new comfort level. With Zika still lingering in the islands and our Europe trip just 5 months ago, we opted to stay domestic for our babymoon.  Our OB also made a great point- She said anything can happen and to travel somewhere that has the same or better healthcare than home.  With that advice, we happily traveled to the golden coast of Los Angeles.  I traveled at 28 weeks pregnant and I would suggest traveling between 24-28 weeks.  I hope you enjoy our babymoon itinerary and some snapshots from our #traveldiary2019.  There is so much to do in LA, we barely scratched the surface but it's important to remember- you're pregnant!!  Moving slow and doing less in your days is very important to stay healthy.  And drink a ton of fluids! If you're not pregnant, I think this is still a fun itinerary, just add in some cocktails and maybe some late night spots :) If you're planning a trip feel free to reach out to us for more info!  xx

Wednesday

  • Land at LAX and pick up a must-needed convertible from Silver Car
  • Check-in to our favorite, the Sunset Tower Hotel and enjoy drinks on the Terrace (I loved how my mocktail mimicked Evan's cocktail).
Sunset Tower Hotel
  • Walk Sunset to the new Fred Segal-- they had so many fabulous children's clothes when we went!
  • Dine at Eveleigh

    Thursday

    • Breakfast outside at the hotel
    • A few computer hours at Soho House (Evan and I both own our own businesses so we're never 100% off the clock)
    Soho House West Hollywood
    • Shopping on Melrose Place-- It's easy to shop the whole street and you must stop in The Row and Irene Neuwirth stores.
    • Lunch with friends outside at The Ivy (wear sunscreen!)

    • Jimmy Kimmel Live taping-- I used to work in the costume department at Jimmy Fallon so I have an affinity for these guys-- Fallon and Kimmel are THE BEST!
    • Dinner on the rooftop garden at Soho House-- I know this is a private club so if you do not have access, another great dinner spot nearby is their public restaurant Cecconi's around the corner on Melrose. Delicious pizzas and plates of pasta.

      Friday

      • Acai bowls at Backyard Bowls
      • Shop Fairfax and La Brea-- Evan and I both love the store American Rag-- it's a great mix of vintage and current clothes, incredible denim, shoes, gifts, and houseware.
      • We headed to 3rd street and shopped at the adorable kid's store Eggy
      • Lunch at Joan's on Third
      • We headed back to the hotel to rest and check-in at work
      • Dinner at Gracias Madre-- Really great vegan food and I enjoyed the fresh mocktails! Looking at this photo I must ask, can anyone confirm if that is Liam Gallagher sitting behind me?!
      Gracias Madre
      • We went to the Troubadour around the corner to see Susto (a band from Charleston). There is seating upstairs so I didn't have to stand in the crowds downstairs.

        Saturday

        • Breakfast outside at the hotel
        Sunset Tower Hotel
        • Drive Sunset all the way to the PCH with the top down!
        • Getty Villa- ok, I blame baby brain- I forgot you must book a scheduled time in advance so we were actually turned away when we arrived.  Make sure you book this ahead of time and then tell me how much you loved it!
        • Lunch at Malibu Farm Restaurant at the Malibu Pier-- I can't stop talking about the most delicious cauliflower pizza, the freshest fish tacos, and the most interesting ice cream flavors here.  This is not to be missed!!
        Malibu Farm
        • Shopping at Hatch at the Brentwood Country Mart-- I was able to find outfits for both of my upcoming baby showers here!
        • Mulholland drive back to West Hollywood
        • Stahl House Tour- SH is a modernist-styled house designed by architect Pierre Koenig in the Hollywood Hills and is known as a frequent set location in American films. Tickets go on sale 30 days in advance.  We spent about an hour touring the house, the pool, and taking in the incredible views. Very cool!
        Stahl House
        • Back to the hotel for a rest-- Evan went to the gym
        • Dinner at The Tower Bar-- while we missed our main man Dimitri Dimitrov as he has moved down the street to Sunset Tower's new private concept, we loved loved loved meeting the new Maitre D, Gabé Doppelt.

        Sunday

        • Time to head home!
